INSPIRE is a five year, UK-wide initiative to engage medical and dental undergraduates with research.

CALLING ALL MEDICAL STUDENTS - HAVE YOU BEEN INSPIRED YET?

You have all chosen medicine for different reasons but do you know how many different types of career there are? The Southampton Inspire Academic Society (SIAS) exists to highlight and interest you in some of the opportunities that you might not yet have thought about:

How do you go about starting a medical career that involves teaching? or researching? Or both? Becoming a Professor? Dean of a Medical School??

As academic leads of SIAS, we work with your SIAS student Committee to bring you Conferences, research tasters, extra sessions on CV development and building a portfolio, carrying out literature reviews properly and efficiently, critically reviewing a published paper, writing abstracts, learning how to teach effectively, how to get the best out of a mentor, etc. etc.

We are always keen to hear from you especially if you have ideas about what you would like from us or your society.
