A new research project examining the role of social entrepreneurship in universities launches at University of Southampton
A new research project examining the role of social entrepreneurship in universities has launched at the University of Southampton led by Dr Pathik Pathak from the Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Sciences, and Professor Kalwant Bhopal from the School of Education.
The project, which is funded by the University's Strategic Interdisciplinary Research Fund, seeks to understand the recent expansion of social entrepreneurship activities at universities. Focusing on student motivations and perceptions these activities, the research team will identify how social entrepreneurship fits into the wider themes of student experience, leadership and employability at universities both in the UK and internationally. The findings will inform leaders and policy makers in higher education and enhance the student experience of social entrepreneurship at universities across the globe.
The project begins in February 2016 and will be completed December 2016.
