Annie worked on a food social venture during the UOSM2022 Social Enterprise Module:

"The main reason I wanted to take the module was to challenge myself. Before the module I didn't have any experience of entrepreneurship, but despite not being naturally business minded I was really interested in the potential of social enterprises. Having done volunteering with both social enterprises and charities I was keen to learn about the practicalities and models behind this work, and to push myself outside my comfort zone

The benefits of the module have extended far beyond the valuable skills I have learned; skills that have not only taught me a great deal about entrepreneurship, but also transferable skills that have been useful in all areas of my life

Though the module was hugely challenging all the way through, I always felt prepared for the next step. I have learned a lot about leadership and working in a team, as well as the importance of creative thinking which I think is sadly undervalued in many academic modules"
