Event details

The Medicine in History and Society research cluster is holding its first workshop, funded by the Wellcome Trust, on Globalisation and Epidemics.

Issues at January’s workshop include the unequal distribution of epidemics worldwide and how the massive changes experienced worldwide and across the centuries affected the spread of disease. For example, are AIDS or SARS, or Swine Flu today perceived and spread in the same way as the plague epidemic in the Middle Ages? Do they inspire the same terror, fear or confidence?

Attendance of this workshop is free. Please register your attendance with the organiser by emailing Dr Hormoz Ebrahimnejad.
