Entry requirements

Foundation year entry requirements

If you don't have the traditional entry requirements for our undergraduate courses, you may be able to qualify by doing one of our foundation programmes first. To find out more, visit our foundation years page or contact the International Office team.

Undergraduate entry requirements

To be considered for a place on one of our undergraduate (bachelors) degrees, you will need:

Higher Secondary Certificate/Standard 12, achieving at least 75% from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and Metro State Boards (Delhi, Maharashtra, Chennai, Kolkata and Karnataka) 
High grades in UK A levels 
Between 28 and 38 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) 

Postgraduate entry requirements

Masters programmes

Bachelors degree awarded by a recognised University or an equivalent professional qualification approved by the University with an overall qualification of at least 60% 

UK 1st degree equivalent: 55 - 70% depending on awarding institution
UK 2:1 degree equivalent: 55 - 65% depending on awarding institution

PhD programmes

Good grades in bachelors and masters degrees awarded by a recognised university, and a strong research proposal

English language entry requirements

You will need to be able to demonstrate the required level of English language proficiency. Students from India who have achieved 70% in English at Class XII from CBSE or CISCE may be exempted from additional English language requirements.

Getting involved in clubs and societies is a great way to meet other students from your country and from around the world. There are many societies run by the University's Students' Union (SUSU) for different interests, religions, sports and academic groups.

One year of intensive MA programme has developed my knowledge and understanding about Communication Design through lectures, workshops, research skills inductions, tutor-led seminars, group projects and visual presentations.
