Sensor networks for the environment: Glacsweb (running since 2003 with 5 grants)

Semantic sensor web (FP7) SemsorGrid4Env led to SSN Ontology.

Internet of Things sensing research (ARM & NERC) with deployments in Iceland and Scotland

Research interests

Wireless Sensor Networks - especially for environmental applications - recently completed Leverhulme-funded Glacsweb project on Environmental Sensor Networks. Currentlyly focussed on Internet of Things Sensing - funded by NERC.

Advanced imaging especially for cultural heritage applications - eg AHRC RTI project. Linking and Archiving social network stories (ARCOMEM project)

VIPS image processing library used in MediaWiki and available as a Linux package.
