SMMI welcomes Indonesian delegation to the Boldrewood Innovation Campus

SMMI along with the International Partnerships Office were delighted to host a delegation of visitors from Indonesia to the Boldrewood Innovation Campus. The delegation included Admiral Dr Marsetio, Special Envoy to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and Dr Rudiyanto, President Director of BKI who were interested in potential collaboration with the University within the field of marine and maritime.

Director of SMMI, Prof Damon Teagle, gave a brief introduction to demonstrate the University’s excellence and breadth of research in clean shipping; climate change; health and wellbeing in coastal communities; management of marine structures and decommissioning; marine renewable energies and pollution.  This was followed by a short presentation by Dr Rudiyanto and reflected many areas of mutual interest, highlighting the potential for the University to build links with the National Defence University or BKI for short courses.  Invited SMMI members from across the University also shared their knowledge providing valuable input to the discussion.
