Event details
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) (link below) offers a large new funding stream for UK Universities. The focus is on developing and exploiting UK expertise in an Official Development Assistance (ODA) compatible manner. There is also a strong problem focus necessitating a multi-disciplinary approach. Hence this is a wonderful but challenging opportunity.
This meeting will discuss the GCRF and the types of projects that might be funded, and consider how SMMI and the University might prepare for future calls. Anyone interested in participating in these calls should attend. Follow-up meetings will be held if appropriate.
Attendees will be sent preparatory material and be expected to develop a three-minute pitch for a possible GCRF bid.
If you are interested in joining the above event, please let Sue Smith (s.b.smith@soton.ac.uk) know by FRIDAY 16 DECEMBER 2016.
