Hi, I'm Tiffany Raycraft and I studied BSc Sociology within Social Sciences: Sociology, Social Policy & Criminology at the University of Southampton.

The resources are fantastic with books from the library easily accessible and quick computer access from anywhere on campus.

I was first attracted to the University of Southampton because of the campus.  It had a community feel to it and everything including the cinema, nightclub and union shop was all in one place which made it a more convienant place to meet people.

I was drawn to studying Sociology at Southampton because the modules were interesting. From new modules such as disability and society to modules previously studied at A level such as education. There were options to study modules from other courses which opened up new opportunities and new ways of thinking. Support is continually offered particularly for more challenging modules such as statistics which eased fears and worries that I may have had about the course.  The University also has a very good reputation for further research and employment after university.

Student life in Southampton is amazing! The University has a night club with differently themed evenings, a cinema and a pub; all on the concourse! Alternatively, there are numerous clubs on "London Road" which is a stones throw away from the university and with the reliable bus service is easily accessible. West Quay provides very good shopping facilities for students and is close to the supermarkets as well.
