International Trading Internship

Hi, I'm Alex Raikes and I studied BSc Economics within Social Sciences: Economics at the University of Southampton.

I’ve enjoyed the lifestyle at the University. The teaching has been great, we’ve had great support through everything; which is a must when doing a course like Economics.

Life at the University

I’ve enjoyed the lifestyle at the University. The teaching has been great; we’ve had great support through everything, which is a must when doing a course like Economics and the social side of university has been fantastic as well.

Clubs and Societies

I joined a different society every year and I loved every single one of them.  I also played lacrosse throughout my whole degree. I’ve learnt a whole range of new skills inlcuding sailing and windsurfing. Being near the coast has been perfect. There have just been so many opportunities and I've loved every minute of it.

Career Plans

I’m doing an internship in London until December and then I’m moving to South America for a year to undertake some work experience out there. I’ll be dealing with trading: exporting and importing trading, so it should be really interesting as it is quite an expanding market out there.
