Mrs Sarah Nurse BA, MSc
Senior Research Assistant

Sarah Nurse is a Senior Research Assistant in Social Statistics and Demography at the University of Southampton.
My main research interests include migration, with a particular focus on forced migration, data quality and the demography of conflict and violence.
I have been a Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Social Statistics and Demography since February 2018, working on the Bayesian Agent-based Population Studies (BAPS) project, focusing particularly on migration data quality and uncertainty. I previously completed my PhD in Social Statistics and Demography at the University which explored the dispersal of asylum seekers and refugees in the context of limited data. During my doctoral studies I undertook an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) internship within the Migration and Border Analysis team at the Home Office where I worked with the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on publications using migration data from the 2011 Census of England and Wales.
