Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Quota Awards in Economics for 2009

The Division of Economics in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Southampton is pleased to advertise 2 ESRC Quota Awards for postgraduate study, covering full tuition and monthly maintenance stipend for MSc+PhD (1+3 years) or PhD only (3 years) studies in Economics at the University. 1+3 awards involve one year MSc training (MSc Economics or MSc Economics and Econometrics) followed by 3 years doctoral training, while the +3 awards involve direct entry into the doctoral programme for students already holding a good Masters degree. Full awards (tuition and maintenance) are available to either UK or EU nationals who will have resided in the UK for the three years preceding the start of the award (including for study). Applicants from EU countries who do not satisfy the ESRC residency requirements may only be offered the tuition portion of the awards.
