Dr Alexandra Kelso, PAIR’s British politics specialist, was recently featured in the BBC’s flagship political programme, The Politics Show. Alix appeared in the Southern edition of the show on three consecutive occasions in September and October 2009, discussing the party conferences then taking place, and commenting on the electoral chances of the parties in the South in the impending general election, to be held in 2010.
In addition, Alix appeared at length on BBC Radio 4’s highly respected programme, The Westminster Hour, on 4 October 2009, discussing the continuing issues surrounding the MPs’ expenses scandal, and the various impending reports on the issue by Sir Thomas Legge and Sir Christopher Kelly. This analysis drew on Alix’s article published by The Political Quarterly journal, which examined the expenses issue and the difficulties MPs now face in rebuilding their reputation following the fallout from the crisis.
