Recruiting for Professors and Reader in Economics

Published: 8 December 2010Origin: Economics

Applications are invited for two Professorial positions, and one Readership, in the Economics Division of the School of Social Sciences.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated a record of internationally recognised research achievement as well as the potential to sustain that record, and will be able to provide research leadership in their fields. We welcome high-quality applicants from all areas of economics. However, we are particularly interested in appointing a senior Micro theorist, an area in which the Department has a long history of excellence (Malcomson, Armstrong, Shin, Mukerji, Piccione, Valimaki). We would also welcome interest, at either Chair or Reader levels, from an applied economist with interdisciplinary interests (e.g., complexity, information economics, health, environmental, development etc.).

Informal enquiries should be addressed to the Chair of the Hiring Committee, Professor John Knowles, by e-mail at j.a.knowles@soton.ac.uk

When making your online application, please specify if you wish to be considered at Professorial or Readership level.

The closing date for applications is 4 January 2011 at 12.00 noon. Please quote reference number 5027-10-B in all correspondence.
