Reader in Gerontology

We are seeking to appoint an internationally recognised researcher to join the Centre for Research on Ageing, staff of which were returned under the 2008 RAE submission to 'Social Policy and Administration' (UoA40) which was ranked third in the country.

The successful applicant will enhance the research profile of the Centre, bringing a proven record of research funding and publications. They will be expected to provide senior mentoring to junior staff within the Centre and leadership in attracting new funding, as well as contributing to postgraduate teaching programmes in Gerontology. A commitment to working across traditional disciplinary boundaries, both in research and teaching is valued.

The post is tenable from 1st September 2011.

The Centre is housed within Social Sciences which is part of the new Faculty of Social, Human and Mathematical Science sat the University of Southampton.
