New advisory group to aid engagement with fathers

Published: 1 July 2011Origin: Social Sciences: Social Work

Jan Parker is a member of a new advisory group founded partly in response to the Munro Report by the Fatherhood Institute in partnership with the Family Rights Group.

The initiative has been funded through the Department of Education's Voluntary and Community Sector grant which supports local authority safeguarding services to engage more effectively with fathers and other men in families. The work addresses a need referenced in the Munro Review final report and build on the growing understanding about how to engage better with fathers where there are child welfare and safety concerns.
