Adjunct professor of Economics, Peter Phillips, has been selected as a 2013 Thomson Reuters Citation Laureate for contributions to the field of economics.

The distinction highlights the significance of Professor Phillips' work in the eyes of the scientific community. Each year, Thomson Reuters — a world leader in intelligent information for businesses and professionals — chooses individuals for the distinction based on analysis of data from the research and citation database Web of Science, which identifies the most influential researchers in the categories of chemistry, physics, physiology or medicine, and economics.

The company predicts that the researchers named Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates will be Nobel Prize winners, either this year or in the future.

Peter is among 28 researchers from six different countries selected for the honour and among eight economists chosen as laureates. This recognises his contributions to economic time-series, including modelling, testing and forecasting.
