Event details

The Home Office Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) is hosting a partner forum with the Centre for Population Change

The forum is an opportunity for members of the local community to find out more about, and input into, the MAC's recently launched call for evidence on the review of migrant employment in low-skilled work.

The MAC are keen to hear the views of, and receive evidence from, as broad a range of partners involved in this area as possible. They would like to meet with representatives from the following groups:

  • Employers
  • Employees
  • Jobseekers
  • Migrant workers
  • Representative bodies and trades unions
  • Local and national governments
  • Relevant trade associations
  • Other experts in the field

The call for evidence follows a commission from the Government which asks the MAC to advise on the reasons behind and the impact of the growth of migration into low-skilled jobs. This commission will focus on migrant workers in low-skilled employment from Europe as well as those from beyond the European Economic Area (EEA).
