Explore with US: research with your mobile

Tuesday 8th November 2016: 09:00 – 15:30

Nuffield Theatre Cafe/Performance Space

Explore with US is a one-day conference hosted at the University of Southampton for year-12 students. It has been developed with the aim of inspiring and encouraging students to think broader than their chosen subject pathway and highlight the interdisciplinary nature of teaching and research at university.

During the conference students will attend three interactive workshops, meet current undergraduate students and discuss the ideas they have learned in a plenary session.

The day will focus on how technology; mobile phones and devices in particular, are being developed and used in research by many disciplines - and particularly from STEM and the social sciences. Each workshop session will look at the theme of mobile technology from its own unique viewpoint - explore the interface with other disciplines - and pose challenging questions for the participants to think about and discuss.

This event is by invite only for University of Southampton Learn with US partner schools and colleges. If you would like further information about this then please contact Muniza Siddiqui: outreach@soton.ac.uk
