Statistics Research Thursday Seminar Series

We introduce a new class of space filling designs based on a physical analogy of design points as electrically charged particles connected by springs.

The resulting designs exhibit spherical symmetry. They project into subspaces without replication and are nearly orthogonal. These designs are easy to compute because they only require an unconstrained optimization code to produce. Joint work with Chris Gotwalt (SAS).
