Mr Alexander Voccia is a postgraduate student in Economic, Social and Political Sciences.
Alexander holds a M.Sc. in Global Politics, obtained from the University of Southampton in 2003. Currently, Alexander serves as the Coordinator of the Strategic Planning & Outreach Unit of the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) subregional headquarters for the Caribbean. Responsibilities associated with this role include the conceptualization, design and execution of the subregional headquarters’ communication and outreach strategy. Prior to joining ECLAC, Alexander served as Associate Expert in Sustainable Development at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where responsibilities included drafting Secretary-General reports for the UN General Assembly. Alexander’s experiences throughout the United Nations system also include several years in the World Food Programme (WFP). During his time at WFP, Alexander provided on-site training in knowledge management across17 developing countries, ranging from the Eastern Europe to Africa, South-East Asia, Central and Latin America. Alexander is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Policy at the University of Southampton.
