Ms Eunice Akullo is Postgraduate research student in Politics & International Relations at the University of Southampton.
Her research looks at The Challenge of integrating Children born in Captivity in Post-Conflict Northern Uganda and is funded by the Caroline Thomas Studentship.
Her research concentrates on Children born in Captivity by girls who were abducted by LRA soldiers and forced into marriage. This category of children is one among other categories of Children Born of War. The research seeks to explore reasons for their neglect as a category of Persons-Returning-from-Captivity and Reintegrating into communities to which their mothers return, despite interventions in place.
Eunice has previously participated in research relating to Transitional Justice Options among displaced persons in Northern Uganda; HIV Prevention and Awareness among Fishing Populations in Entebbe (Uganda); How Former Child Soldiers use University Education to capture lost career opportunities (2013) and Mapping the Substantive Representation of Women in the Ugandan Parliament (2014).
She has taught at the Mbarara University of Science and Technology [in 2007-2008], Makerere Universities [in 2013-2014] and Nkumba [from 2009 to date].
