Ms Eunice M Williams is a Postgraduate Research Student within Social Statistic & Demography division at the University of Southampton.

Eunice’s research career started at the Kenya Medical Research Institute-Wellcome-Trust Program (KEMRI-WT Program) where she interned immediately after her first degree. At KEMRI-WT, Eunice was involved in conducting systematic reviews following the GRADE process of appraising the quality of evidence of primary research studies. She was part of a team that synthesized evidence which informed the revision of the Ministry of Health’s guidelines for neonatal and child care.

After her internship, Eunice moved to the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), where she has worked for the last seven years, providing technical assistance to enhance the use of evidence in decision-making processes at national and regional levels. Eunice worked mainly under the Demographic Dividend programme, and she has been part of the team that has conducted studies in over 15 African countries, estimating the potential demographic dividend that the countries can harness, and working with government policy makers to increase commitment to adopt integrated development models.

Eunice has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Master in Public Health, and a Master of Arts in Population Studies. She is also a fellow of the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, D.C., USA
