BSc in Psychology/MSc in Gerontology/PhD student University of Southampton. Pamela Calderon Zaldivar

I undertook my undergraduate study is in Psychology in Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila Mexico, after working a couple of years for the National Institute of Statistics and Geography in Mexico (INEGI). I decided to focus my studies in the field of Gerontology and I studied my MSc at the University of Southampton, my thesis was about older women and their access to health services in Mexico. I decided to continue my research since polices in accessing health-care services are changing constantly. Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of Southampton. My research interest is to understand vulnerable groups of older adults and their access to health-care services. I am doing mixed methods research and the title of my project is: Older women’s dependency in accessing and using health-care services. Culture and policy implications in Mexico.
