Piao Mao is a postgraduate research student in Politics and International Relations at the University of Southampton. His research focuses on Niccolò Machiavelli's political theory. He is also interested in modern political philosophy from the 16th century to the 19th century.

He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) in 2017 and a Master's Degree (Political Theory) from Peking University in 2020.
