Ms Stephanie Bispo is Postgraduate research student within Social Statistics & Demography at the University of Southampton.

My background is in Nutrition and my Master in Pediatrics in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, at the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

I have always been interested in research about health and nutrition. In 2010 I joined the Health Observatory of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in partnership with the Group of Research in Epidemiology, to work specifically with overweight/obesity and well-being of adolescents living in Belo Horizonte. During this time, my interest in statistics increased, as well as the interest in doing some research about health in a greater level. I believe that statistics can help in understanding some inequalities in health, and influence health policies.

Now I am a postgraduate researcher in the Department of Social Statistics and Demography in the Faculty of Social Sciences, and I aim to develop my research skills and gain expertise in nutrition issues in the developing and middle-income world.
