Youth workers enhance the personal and social development of young people and facilitate activities to allow them to learn to develop relationships with others and find their place in society. The focus is mainly on young adults between the ages of 13-19. The work environment of a youth worker ranges from youth centres, schools and colleges, to youth offending teams. The role includes such activities as managing and administering youth community projects related to important issues such as health and fitness, drugs, relationships and bullying.
