Marios Papadopoulos graduated from Cambridge University and completed his clinical studies in Oxford. He trained in neurosurgery at Atkinson Morley hospital in London and the University of California at San Francisco. He is currently a consultant neurosurgeon at St George's Hospital in London. His clinical interests include spinal and vascular neurosurgery and his research interest is aquaporin 4 and its role in pathologies of the brain and spinal cord, such as oedema and neuromyelitis optica.
