This is a reminder of a couple of conferences that the SEC is supporting in the next few weeks.

‘Kant and Moral Demandingness’ conference

Thursday 7th – Friday 8th June

Building 65, Lecture Theatre C

Speakers include Robert Stern (Sheffield), Martin Sticker (Trinity College Dublin), Alice Pinheiro Walla (Bayreuth), Lucas Thorpe (Boğaziçi), Joe Saunders (Leeds), Christopher Macleod (Lancaster), Charlotte Newey (Warwick) and Brian McElwee (Southampton).

Part of the joint Boğaziçi -Southampton Newton-Katip Çelebi project “Agency and Autonomy: Kant and the Normative Foundations of Republican Self-Government”, run by Lucas Thorpe (Boğaziçi) and Andrew Stephenson (Southampton).

‘The Philosophy of Pregnancy, Birth, and Early Motherhood’ conference

Thursday 21st – Friday 22nd June

Speakers include Barbara Katz Rothman (CUNY), Sarah LaChance Adams (Wisconsin), Maggie Little (Georgetown), Clare Murphy (British Pregnancy Advisory Service), Guy Rohrbaugh (Auburn), Stella Villarmea (Alcala), Elselijn Kingma (Southampton) and Fiona Woollard (Southampton).

Also supported by the Aristotelian Society, the Society for Applied Philosophy, the British Society for the Philosophy of Science, the Analysis Committee, and the Society for Women in Philosophy UK.
