Your safety matters and so does the safety of our facilities

Health and Safety

The Sport and Wellbeing Journey:

In line with our COVID-19 prevention measures, we have introduced a number of new systems for accessing our facilities which we will kindly ask our customers to abide by. These measures minimise unnecessary contact between customers and take strides towards a safer and more secure Sport and Wellbeing during this period. To better outline what is asked during these new processes, we have provided two films called The Gym Journey and The Swimmer's Journey. We are also happy to share that fitness classes are back, but we ask you to #StaySafe and follow the class journey. The class journey can be found in a PDF version at the bottom of this page

We are looking forward to welcoming returning and new customers to our facilities, please feel free to drop us an email via sportandwellbeing@southampton.ac.uk. You can also find further information within our news section, along with our membership page for our brand new rates.

Avenue Campus Tennis Courts

Please be aware that use of the Avenue Campus tennis courts is done so at the user’s own discretion. These courts are a University Free Sport offering for Students and Staff of the UoS and so you are not required to purchase a Sport and Wellbeing membership, nor are you asked to book in advance.

These courts are intended for Tennis, Basketball, and Netball only. We ask all users to please be considerate to other individuals who may be waiting to play after you. In addition, we ask for consideration for neighbouring households and request that no music be played on court. Please ensure that all litter is placed in the bins provided.

Please note that, because the Avenue Campus courts are a Free Sport offering, they will not be staffed by any members of the Sport and Wellbeing team. The University of Southampton’s security team is the go-to contact for any and all injuries that take place at this facility.
