Swimming Pool Closure

Dear Customers,

We would like to thank you for your cooperation over the last few days. Due to following Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG) and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines, we have had to ensure our swimming pool and the air temperature was sufficient for our customers.

Our utmost mission has been to ensure our facilities continued to operate as normal, however, this has proved difficult at times from a health and safety point of view.

The University of Southampton Estates and Facilities team have reported ongoing issues with the wider University heating concerns that have been caused by boiler failure. The Estates and Facilities team have worked continuously to ensure further adjustments have been made to heat Jubilee Sports Centre areas.

Once again, we would like to thank you for your cooperation and below, we have included the guidelines for operating temperatures:

Competitive adult swimming
26 - 28°C / 78 - 82 °F
General fitness swimming
