New Government Guidelines - Six Person Group Limit

Published: 23 September 2020

To all our customers at Sport and Wellbeing,

Yesterday, the UK government issued a statement detailing a stricter enforcement of the current six-person group regulations. The maximum permitted group size is to be no greater than six with a first-time fine of £200 issued to any found in breach these rules.

At present, this does not affect the following: Outdoor team sports, individual gym and swim sessions, and fitness classes. This rule does not affect children’s activities, so the ongoing Jubilee Swimming Academy lessons will proceed as normal.

However, please note that this will affect all recreational indoor sports, including, but not limited to, badminton, basketball, futsal, netball, volleyball, and 5-a-side football. Customers are able to book and play these sporting activities as normal but will not be allowed to do so in groups larger than six. For example, football can only be played in groups of 3-a-side.

Though it is unfortunate that we must impose these limits so soon after reopening the Jubilee Sports Hall, customers are reminded that any individuals seen playing in groups larger than six will be asked to leave the premises. Repeat offenders will receive an etiquette breach, which may result in a suspension or eventual loss of membership rights.
