Recent University guidance has been issued for all University facility users.

"Our local NHS services are seeing a significant increase in other seasonal respiratory illness, particularly amongst our students. These illnesses can be spread in the same way as COVID.

For all these reasons, our local Health Protection Board has asked our community to remain vigilant, and to be cautious. In response, we now need to strengthen the measures we currently have in place.

With immediate effect, we are moving from “strongly encouraging and expecting” the wearing of face coverings, to an explicit requirement that face coverings must be worn by all students in all taught and practical sessions, and by all staff and students when moving around inside our campus buildings, unless a medical exemption applies.

The wearing of a face covering in these situations is about protecting others around you, just as others wearing a face covering are protecting you. It’s about acting together as a community to look after each other". - Wendy Appleby, Vice-President (Operations)

With this in mind all users of Sport & Wellbeing facilities will be required to wear facemasks.
