We hope that you are enjoying the beginning of Autumn, it’s great to see so many students back on Campus.

Important news

Following an email announcement from the Vice Chancellor, it is now University Policy to wear a face-covering in all University buildings. As we are part of the University of Southampton, this includes any of our Sport and Wellbeing facilities. Please be aware that our reception and operations staff will be reminding everyone using the facilities to wear a face-covering unless you are exempt. Many thanks in advance for your understanding, complying with these regulations will go a long way to allowing our facilities and surrounding University buildings to stay open!

There are only 3 days left to sign up for membership and avoid paying the joining fee. From 1st November the £15 Joining Fee will return for all new memberships with Sport and Wellbeing. This will only be applied to the initial online payment; the monthly payments will then follow at the normal price.

What's new?

For those who like a bit of peace and quiet whilst enjoying a workout, we have added two quiet gym hours each week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2pm-3pm. During these times, the main music system in the gym will be switched off. You are welcome to listen to your own music through headphones, but please be respectful of those using the gym around you.

October has seen the return of our Technique Classes. These are ideal for those new to using the gym equipment, or even as a refresher for regular gym users. From Squat Clinic to Deadlifts, these classes will help you to use any equipment in the gym safely and allow you to get the most out of your workout!

If you fancy a 15 minute exercise class to clear away the morning cobwebs or de-stress after a long day? Our new Energy series classes are a series of short workouts designed to refresh, activate, mobilize and decompress. These workouts are ideal if you are short on time, warming up for an intense workout, or looking to unwind and relax. Our Technique and Energy series classes are free to members, and all classes can be booked online or via our UOS Sport app.

Personal Training Sessions

This month we have introduced Personal Training sessions across our gym facilities which are open to both members and non-members. Whether you want to improve your technique or reach your fitness goals, our two friendly, fully-qualified personal trainers, Andy and Adam, have got you covered! Try a one-off session with 20% off your first booking or purchase a bundle of 5! Please feel free to contact us or visit our reception team at Jubilee Sports Centre for more information.

Thank you for taking the time to read our monthly newsletter. Our next newsletter will be published on Friday 26th November.
