Professor Marika Taylor will be talking about the legacy of Stephen Hawking at the four day New Scientist Live event in London (20-23 Sept 2018, ExCeL).

She completed her PhD in Cambridge under the supervision of Stephen Hawking, and worked with him on the properties of spinning black holes.

Stephen Hawking did more in his lifetime to advance our understanding of gravity than anyone since Einstein. He did all this in the face of a terrible disease. At the event the panel discussion explores the legacy of the greatest physicist of our age. His work was so ground breaking that it still provides the biggest clue in the search for a theory of everything. His views on everything from time travel to the National Health Service were sought after and respected. His close students and supporters remember Stephen Hawking, the man and the scientist, and discuss what made him such a talented communicator and a cultural icon.
