StOP UTI: Strategies in older people’s care settings to prevent infection

About us

The School of Health Sciences, University of Southampton is leading on this important research study funded by the National Institute for Health Research Health Technology Assessment Programme. The study is focused on identifying which strategies are effective in preventing older people in care homes from acquiring urinary tract infection (UTI).

The research team is led by Dr. Jacqui Prieto (University of Southampton) and Professor Heather Loveday (University of West London). The co-investigators are Professor Jennie Wilson, Alison Tingle (University of West London), Jennifer Bostock (PPI based in England), Simon Briscoe (University of Exeter), Dr. Lynne Williams (Bangor University), Dr. Melanie Handley (University of Hertfordshire) and Professor Jo Rycroft - Malone (University of Lancaster).
