Biol2012 Exploring Proteins

Proteins are at the heart of almost every biological process. Truly understanding what happens requires the incredible technology employed in structural biology and biophysics exploying wavelengths of light from X-rays to radiowaves.

Exploring Proteins demonstrates the extent to which proteins fulfill an astounding array of diverse functions. Antibodies are masters in recognising other biomolecules and enzymes speed up reactions by many orders of magnitude; just two examples of proteins you'll encounter in this module.

Without structural biology we couldn't understand proteins and modern biology would be inconceivable. This module aims to provide an understanding of the biology, structure and function of proteins.
