Research

Understanding cellular processes fully requires knowing the atomic structure, and from this, the function and mechanisms of biomolecules.

It can therefore be applied to almost all biological processes but within structural biology here at the Centre for Biological Sciences, University of Southampton, several themes are being specifically investigated. These are listed in the menu on the left.

If you think structural biology could solve questions in your own research, whether you fit in a theme or not, please get in touch.

Something different

Research fellow Halina Mikolajek has combined art with science to illustrate structural biology and bring the science to the wider community as a range of textile artworks.
