- you are transferring to a new course which requires ATAS
- you have finished a course with us and are starting a new course of study which requires ATAS
- you need to renew or extend your visa for your current course of study

I am transferring to a new course which requires ATAS
- You must make your new application for an ATAS certificate before your Faculty processes your course transfer.
- You must provide a list of all the new modules that you will study on your new course
I have finished a course at the University of Southampton and am starting a new course which requires ATAS
- You must apply for an ATAS certificate for your new course of study
- You cannot apply for a visa for your new course until you have received your new ATAS Certificate.
I need to renew or extend my visa for my current course
- Your application must state the new length of your course, not the original length.
- If you are starting a new course of study, you need to include the start date of your new course. If you are continuing with your current course of study, you should include the date you submit your ATAS extension application as the start date.
- If the length of time that you are studying has increased because you have repeated modules or need more time to write up your thesis, you must apply for a new ATAS Certificate before you apply for your visa extension.
- If you are a PhD student, you must submit an updated research statement with your ATAS application
- If you are an undergraduate or postgraduate student on a taught course, you must submit a list of the modules you will study with your ATAS Application.
