Before starting your application for ATAS, please ensure that you read the Foreign and Commonwealth Office guidance for making your application fully. Failure to answer any of the questions will lead to delays in the processing of your ATAS application.
If you are coming to the University as a visiting student on any of the courses listed below, you will need an ATAS certificate.
Please note that the FCO considers nationals of some countries to be exempt from requiring ATAS. You should check the listing on the FCO website to confirm whether you require ATAS within this context.

Our PGCE courses do not require ATAS clearance.
You must provide the full list of modules available to you on your course when submitting your ATAS application. Do not submit a list of only those modules you intend to study. The list of relevant modules for your course can be found in the Course Description Document which can be found on the courses page of the University of Southampton website. We recommend referencing this document on our website when applying for ATAS as this version will always be the most up to date.
You will be asked for your supervisor's name when submitting your ATAS application. We advise you to enter the relevant Director of Programmes in this section. The relevant name for your course can be found on this webpage.
