If you are coming to the University as a visiting student on any of the courses listed below, you will need an ATAS certificate.
Please note that the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office considers nationals of some countries to be exempt from requiring ATAS. You can find the list of exempt nationals in Appendix ATAS of the Immigration rules (paragraph ATAS 3.1 exempt nationals).

If you are starting on one of our foundation programmes leading into any of the courses listed above, you must apply for your ATAS before the start of your foundation programme.
You must provide the full list of modules available to you on your course when submitting your ATAS application. Do not submit a list of only those modules you intend to study. The list of relevant modules for your course can be found in the Course Description Document which can be found on the courses page of the University of Southampton website. We recommend referencing this document on our website when applying for ATAS as this version will always be the most up to date.
You will be asked for your supervisor's name when submitting your ATAS application. We advise you to enter the relevant Director of Programmes in this section. The relevant name for your course can be found on this webpage.
