CAS guidance for University of Southampton Malaysia students

How to get a CAS

The process to assign CAS to students begins in the University of Southampton Malaysia Student Office. Students who have not yet received a CAS statement email with their CAS number should contact the Malaysia Student Office in the first instance.

In order to receive a CAS to study in the UK, you must have met all academic progression requirements.

Once we receive the CAS questionnaire, we try to process it within 7 working days (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays). We will then send you an email containing your CAS Statement. The CAS will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

Applying for a visa

Further guidance and information on applying for a visa can be found on the Visa and Immigration Student Advice Service (VISAS Team) webpages. Students should record their CAS number in the visa application form. It is not necessary to submit the CAS Statement email with the visa application. The CAS will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue.

After You Have Obtained Your Visa

When you arrive in the UK, you will need to attend a Visa, Passport and Identity ‘Check In’. Information about what you will need to do will be sent to you before you arrive.
