A Transcript is a document which records your academic achievement on your programme of study. It shows your name, student ID number, HESA ID number (if applicable), programme of study and the name, level, credits and mark (grade) for every module you have taken. Please note for certain courses a transcript is not available. This is the case for some PhDs and Health Science courses.
From Semester 2 2026 Marks Release, every current student is entitled to semesterised Transcripts and these are issued automatically after each Marks Release date. These Transcripts will be sent directly to your University email address. All Transcripts should be read with the accompanying reverse page.
If you require additional copies to be sent to third-party organisations/institutions, please order the Current Students - Third-Party Transcripts via the Online Store (product will be available by no later than Friday 8 May). E-mail us on studenthub@soton.ac.uk if you have any other questions.
The dates for the 2025/26 academic year are as follows:
For more information on award dates, please click here.
If you studied here and have now been awarded, you can also order a Transcript on the Online Store. There is a £12 charge for each Transcript.
NB If you completed your studies at Southampton before 2005 we may not have access to your marks. In that case we will issue a confirmation of award letter and refund any money you have paid.
This is similar to a Transcript but carries more information to make it compliant with the European Higher Education Area. This means that it is more easily understood and transparent to employers and higher education providers outside the UK.
You will receive your Diploma Supplement, along with your Certificate and Confirmation of Award Letter, when you have successfully completed your programme of study. See the 'Awards' section by using the navigation at the top of this page.
All Diploma supplements should be read with the accompanying 'Explanatory Notes' found on the link at the bottom of this page.
The University of Southampton ensures full recognition for activities of study mobility in terms of credits awarded and the inclusion of this mobility in the final record of student achievements on the Diploma Supplement.
Please note there are some course exceptions where only the first information page of the Diploma Supplement is available as the Transcript is not applicable. This can occur for some PhD courses or Health Science courses
Additional copies of documents are available from our Online Store https://store.southampton.ac.uk . Please search for 'Transcript' or 'Diploma Supplement'.
