Student Support Fund Assessment Outcome

If you do not believe the outcome of your application is an accurate reflection of your financial situation then please email stufunds@soton.ac.uk within 7 days of receiving the outcome email. Initially you will be provided with a copy of the assessment, showing the income and expenditure used including any set figures and caps applied in accordance with the Student Support Fund Guidelines. If  after receiving the assessment you still believe it to be  incorrect,  then you may wish to undertake the following;

Review

You can request an appointment within seven days of receiving the decision notification to discuss the outcome of your Student Support application, for one or more of the following circumstances;

At the appointment the advisor will go through what figures were used and how the assessment was completed. They will also assess any additional information/documentation that you are able to provide to identify whether a reassessment is required.

If a reassessment is appropriate then this will be completed within 10 working days of any additional supporting documentation being received. This reassessment will be checked by another advisor to ensure that all figures and calculations used are correct.

You will be sent an email confirming the outcome of the reassessment.

If you are still not satisfied with the outcome of the review then you can request an appeal.

Appeal

All appeals must be in writing by email to; stufunds@soton.ac.uk under the subject heading;
