Changes at the Transition to Living and Learning Project

Madeline Paterson

As many of you may already know, Sarah Rogers (Project Manager) is due to go on maternity leave this week, and will return at the beginning of January 2013.

We are very lucky to have Madeline Paterson mp3m08@soton.ac.uk that will be taking on the Project Manager role for the twelve months starting on 9 Jan 2012 (0.6 FTE until the end of June and 0.8 FTE from July onwards). Marta Cecconi, the Project Coordinator, will be moving on to pastures new at the end of January 2012 and we are currently recruiting a recent graduate as her replacement.

Madeline will be visiting Associate Deans before the end of March to discuss:

i) Re-cap on Project objectives

ii) Identification of Faculty priorities, and how the Project can support them

iii) Identification of relevant Faculty case studies for website

Madeline is also keen to meet other colleagues around the University interested in transitions to make contact and see how the Project can help.

Many of you will already be familiar with the annual workshop we run in June. In 2013 it will take place on Tuesday 26th June, in the Nightingale Building (64), so please make a note in your diary. The theme of the workshop is around how our own students can support each other in the transition to study, and we plan to have many students that have been involved in designing/coordinating/delivering/participating in our project activities contributing to the sessions on the day. Please look out for emails telling you more about it nearer the time, and updates will be on the website. Please contact Madeline if you have any questions.

Thanks again for all your support.
