You Said: Acoustics in the main teaching lab at National Oceanography Centre Southampton (NOCS) can be poor with large classes and sometimes difficult for staff and demonstrators to talk to all students easily in practical classes.

We Did: Through a government grant investing in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) teaching facilities, we have just completed a £2.1 million upgrade of our main practical teaching labs at NOCS. This includes new flexible desk layout for easier communication between staff and students during practical classes, new audio-visual facilities to improve teaching methods and communication, and new lab equipment.

You can view more about these new teaching labs through the University's Virtual Open Day website
