Conference Content

The theme of the conference reflects growing interest in the notion of responsible leadership as the current financial crisis and turmoil has ignited what is fast becoming a crisis of leadership itself. How to implement a more sustainable approach to management that reflects the real concerns of people requires new ways of working and leading. The conference will address the challenges of responsible leadership in today's business and social environment with speakers from both academia and practice presenting case studies and ideas on how to enact responsible leadership. Presentations will explore what a new model of responsible leadership looks like, the challenges of responsible leadership and sustainability, how to develop leaders using a responsible leadership framework and give examples of responsible leadership in practice. We are particularly pleased to welcome Professor Thomas Maak from ESADE in Barcelona who is one of the foremost writers and thinkers in this area. The conference will also offer participants the opportunity to take part in in skill-based workshops where experts will help you to develop some of the skill sets necessary for responsible leadership.

Format

The day will consist of presentations from guest speakers drawn from business, public sector and academia as well as a choice of skill-based workshops exploring the cando and application aspects of responsible leadership. There will be plenty of opportunity for networking during the day.
