The epidemiology of Q fever in western Kenya: a One Health exploration of spatial patterns and risk factors for infection

Q Fever is a bacterial zoonoses that affects ruminants and humans, and is endemic across much of the world. However, there are significant gaps in our understanding of the prevalence, spatial distribution and risk factors for Q fever infection, particularly in low-income settings. This research aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of Q fever epidemiology in an area of western Kenya, accounting for spatial patterns, socio-economic risk factors and potential environmental influences on disease in both humans and cattle.

These meetings are intended for everyone with an interest in disease ecology, spatial epidemiology and the types of spatial analysis and modelling methods that may be used in this field. There will also be a lot of relevance in some of our meetings for researchers in similar fields (e.g. species distribution modelling, health geography). All are welcome to join us – it’s a great opportunity to get together and discuss on-going research, methods, conferences, publications and more in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. Feel free to bring your lunch.

Details of all upcoming meetings can be found here.
