Sustainability Action

What is sustainability?

Sustainability is now a commonly used term, and is often restricted to environmentally-friendly activities. We recognise however that to achieve true sustainability we must consider all its guises, including human health and wellbeing, equity and social justice, as well as how we manage our natural and financial resources.

A globally responsible university

The University recognises its responsibility to invest in future generations. It is important that the economic, social and environmental implications are considered in all our activities, including teaching and learning, research, and estate management.

What does it mean for me?

Each of us can make small changes to our daily lives to have a positive impact on society and the environment. Read more about what you can do to live more sustainably, and how it's relevant to you and your everyday activities.
