TEAtime introduces 6th form students to the variety of subjects at University and enables them to experience the interdisciplinary nature of research at University of Southampton.
Aims:
To provide informative and engaging series of lectures and workshops for A-Level (or equivalent) students linked with A-level subject content
To promote the study of STEM, Humanities and Social Sciences subjects at Higher Education level
To highlight the University of Southampton as centre of world-class learning and research
To provide relevant information on Higher Education to prospective students to enable an informed choice
Objectives:
Provide engaging and interactive 45min - 1hr lectures and workshops based around current themes of research within the University of Southampton
Provide relevant introductory talks on applying to University, Student Finance and other topics to inspire young people into making an informed choice with regards to Higher Education
Provide public speaking and outreach training for early career researchers and PhD students who lead the workshops and lectures
Provide opportunities for participants and colleges to be made aware of other relevant outreach opportunities within the University of Southampton
